About This Session

Each month, the African Healthcare Association brings together leading clinicians, researchers, and global health partners to share the evidence and innovations shaping patient care across the continent. The June 2026 session zeroes in on the practice-changing oncology studies of the year, with a deliberate focus on how these advances can be translated into real-world impact for African patients.

Featuring Dr. Nesrine Mejri, a leading medical oncologist from Tunisia and principal investigator on multiple international phase III trials, alongside Dr. Ray Mankoski, a strategic healthcare leader with more than 15 years of global biopharma experience, this conversation moves beyond headlines to examine feasibility, timing, and the conditions African health systems need to adopt new standards of care.

Clinicians, researchers, public health professionals, and health system leaders are invited to join the discussion, ask questions, and take away actionable insights they can apply to their work.

In This Engaging Session, We Will Discuss

Four focused threads connecting the year’s most consequential oncology evidence to clinical decisions on the ground in Africa.

  • The most important practice-changing studies in 2026

Clear, accessible explanations of the clinical studies shaping care for patients in the U.S. and globally, and why they matter. Expect a curated walk-through of the year’s most consequential phase III trials and regulatory milestones, with plain-language commentary on what the data actually says, what it does not, and where the field is heading next.

  • When and how these breakthroughs can be implemented in African settings

A practical look at timelines, feasibility, and what health systems need to adopt new standards of care. The conversation will cover regulatory pathways, supply chain and access considerations, diagnostic infrastructure, workforce readiness, and the partnerships that turn approval into availability for African patients.

  • Evidence that can be applied now for African patients

Realistic, high-impact clinical insights that clinicians, researchers, and health leaders can use immediately. Where new evidence intersects with existing tools, protocols, and resources already available across African oncology practice, our speakers will identify the highest-yield changes you can make today.

  • How innovation and evidence translate into better outcomes

A cross-sector conversation on strengthening care delivery, improving access, and building research capacity across the continent. We will examine how clinical practice, industry strategy, advocacy, and policy can work together to close the gap between global innovation and African patient outcomes.
