1. General Disclaimer
The African Healthcare Association (AHA) is a professional, mission‑driven organization dedicated to strengthening healthcare systems across Africa and the global diaspora. AHA provides educational programming, networking opportunities, leadership development, and community engagement. AHA does not provide medical, legal, financial, or clinical advice, and no content shared through AHA events, publications, or digital platforms should be interpreted as such.
All information shared by AHA, its members, speakers, or contributors is offered “as‑is” for educational and professional development purposes only. AHA makes no warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or applicability of information provided.
AHA assumes no responsibility for any injury, loss, or damages arising from participation in AHA activities, reliance on shared information, or use of AHA platforms.
AHA reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for violations of these terms.
2. Membership Eligibility & Responsibilities
By joining AHA, members agree to uphold the mission and values of the Association and to participate in a manner that promotes professionalism, respect, and community advancement.
Members agree to:
- Provide accurate information during registration and maintain updated contact details.
- Engage respectfully with peers, speakers, and AHA staff.
- Use AHA platforms for professional development, not for solicitation or commercial promotion.
- Abide by all AHA policies, including community guidelines, privacy rules, and event codes of conduct.
3. Code of Conduct for Events, Programs & Online Communities
To ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive environment, members and participants must adhere to the following:
Respectful Engagement
- Focus on ideas, not individuals. Keep conversations respectful.
- Avoid defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, or offensive language.
- Support an inclusive environment across cultures, genders, and professional backgrounds.
No Solicitation or Promotion
- AHA events and platforms may not be used to advertise or promote external products, services, or events unless explicitly approved by AHA.
Confidentiality & Privacy
- Do not share confidential patient information, proprietary data, or sensitive organizational materials.
- Respect intellectual property rights; only post content you own or have permission to share.
Professional Conduct
- Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Violations may result in removal from events, suspension of portal access, or termination of membership.
4. Use of the AHA Member Portal
The AHA Member Portal is provided to support professional development, networking, and collaboration.
By accessing the portal, users agree to:
- Use the platform for mission‑aligned purposes only.
- Avoid posting harmful, illegal, or misleading content.
- Not upload viruses, malware, or disruptive code.
- Not attempt to scrape, copy, or redistribute portal content without permission.
AHA may monitor portal activity to ensure compliance and may remove content that violates these terms.
5. Event Participation Terms
Participation in AHA events (virtual or in‑person) requires agreement to:
- Follow all event‑specific instructions, safety protocols, and venue rules.
- Allow AHA to use event photography, video, or audio recordings for educational or promotional purposes unless an opt‑out is formally submitted.
- Accept that event schedules, speakers, and content may change without notice.
AHA is not responsible for travel costs, technical issues, or disruptions beyond its control.
6. Data Use & Privacy
By joining AHA or participating in AHA activities, members consent to the processing of their personal data for membership administration, event registration, communications, and community engagement.
Members may update their privacy settings or request data removal in accordance with AHA’s Privacy Policy, which will be published once available.
AHA does not sell member data.
7. Intellectual Property
All AHA content, including logos, publications, presentations, and digital materials, is protected by U.S. copyright. Members may not reproduce or distribute AHA materials without written permission.
User‑generated content posted on AHA platforms remains the property of the creator, but AHA is granted a non‑exclusive license to display such content within its community spaces.
8. Limitation of Liability
AHA is not liable for:
- Decisions made based on information shared through AHA programs or platforms
- Technical failures, service interruptions, or data loss
- Actions of third‑party vendors, speakers, or participants
- Personal injury or property damage occurring during AHA events
Members and participants assume full responsibility for their engagement with AHA resources.
9. Amendments
AHA may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued membership or participation constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
